BSTC (Pre D.El.Ed)

Overview

BSTC (Basic School Teaching Certificate), now officially known as Pre D.El.Ed. (D.El.Ed. - Diploma in Elementary Education) exam is an entrance exam conducted for Diploma in Elementary Education (General and Sanskrit) in Rajasthan. Candidates who are successful in this examination get admission for the two-year D.El.Ed course, which prepares them to become teachers.

Eligibility Criteria for BSTC (Pre D.EI.Ed)

1.     Candidate must have completed 10+2 (High School) in from a recognized board is required.

2.     Candidates must scoreda minimum aggregate score of 50% in their exam. 

3.     Candidate must have minimum age is typically 18 years. The maximum age limit can extend up to 35 years, but this can vary depending on the specific state board or institution conducting the D.El.Ed. program. 

4.     Candidates must be Indian citizens.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The Rajasthan BSTC (Pre D.El.Ed) exam consists of 200 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) for a total of 600 marks, with each correct answer worth +3 marks and no negative marking. The exam is divided into four sections: Mental Ability, General Awareness (of Rajasthan), Teaching Aptitude, and Language Ability (Hindi/Sanskrit and English). The total duration of the exam is 3 hours (180 minutes).

Sections and Topics

The paper is divided into four broad sections:

·         Mental Ability: 

Includes topics like Reasoning, Analogy, Discrimination, Relationship, Analysis, and Logical Thinking. 

·         General Awareness: 

Covers General Knowledge of Rajasthan, including current affairs. 

·         Teaching Aptitude: 

Focuses on skills such as Teaching Learning, Leadership Quality, Creativity, Communication Skills, and Professional Attitude. 

·         Language Ability:

Hindi: Or Sanskrit (for candidates in the Sanskrit stream). 

English: Covers English language skills. 

Admission Process

This process is for a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education and is managed by authorities like the Vardhman Mahavir Open University (VMOU) for Rajasthan.

1. Check Eligibility and Notification:

·         Academic Qualification: 

You must have passed your 10+2 (Senior Secondary) examination. 

·         Marks Requirement: 

Typically, general category candidates need 50% marks, and reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) require 45% marks. 

·         Age Limit: 

Generally, candidates must be between 18 and 28 years old, though this can vary by state and year. 

·         Official Notification: 

Look for the official notification from the state's education department or conducting body, such as VMOU for Rajasthan. 

2. Fill the Application Form:

·         Online Application: Complete the application form online through the official website for the specific year and state. 

·         Application Fee: Pay the prescribed application fee. 

3. Appear for the Entrance Exam:

·         Admit Card: Download your admit card from the official portal. 

·         Exam: Take the entrance exam on the scheduled date. The exam tests various subjects, including mental ability, reasoning, and general knowledge. 

4. Wait for Results and Merit List: 

·         Merit List: After the exam, the results and a merit list will be published online.

·         Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in the entrance exam.

5. Counselling and Admission:
