CG PAT (Chhattisgarh Pre-Agriculture Test) exam is an entrance examination conducted by Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CGPEB) to admit students into undergraduate courses in agriculture and related fields. CG PAT Exam Purpose
The main objective of CG PAT (Chhattisgarh Pre-Agriculture Test) exam is to provide admission to the candidates into undergraduate degree programmes in Agriculture ( B.Sc Agriculture) and Horticulture ( B.Sc Horticulture) in government and private colleges of the state of Chhattisgarh which is conducted by Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CG Vyapam). This exam evaluates the students' knowledge related to science and agriculture so that they can get admission in the prestigious agricultural institutes of the state.
Objective of CG PAT Exam:
· Admission to Undergraduate Agriculture and Horticulture Courses:
The primary aim of the CG PAT exam is to provide admission to students who are willing to pursue graduate level studies in the field of Agriculture and Horticulture in various colleges of the state.
· State Level Colleges Entrance Gate:
This exam serves as the entrance examination for government and private agricultural institutes across the state.
· Merit Based Selection:
This test evaluates the candidates' knowledge of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology subjects to determine their eligibility for admission into agriculture and horticulture programmes.
· Allocation of Institutional Seats:
Through the examination, students can get admission into a large number of available Bachelor of Agriculture seats (around 1259) and Bachelor of Horticulture seats (around 272).
Eligibility Criteria for appearing in CG PAT Exam
1. Students must have studied Agriculture, Biology or Mathematics subjects in class 11th or 12th.
2. For the general category, a minimum of 50% marks is required, while candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories and females need a minimum of 45%.
3. There is also an age limit: a maximum of 25 years for the general category and 28 years for reserved categories and females.
4. You must be a resident of Chhattisgarh, holding a state domicile
5. This exam is mandatory for those students who want to make a career in agriculture.
CG PAT Exam Pattern
The CG PAT exam is a 200-mark, 3-hour, offline, pen-and-paper test divided into three sections, with 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and no negative marking. Candidates choose a group (Science or Agriculture), with the Science group covering Physics, Chemistry, and either Biology or Mathematics, while the Agriculture group covers Crop Production, Horticulture, and Animal Husbandry. The exam is conducted in both English and Hindi.

CG PAT Exam Syllabus
The syllabus of CG PAT (Chhattisgarh Pre-Agriculture Test) exam is divided into two main groups: Science Group (PCM & PCB) and Agriculture Group . The science group includes physics, chemistry, and mathematics or biology. The Agriculture group includes physics, chemistry as well as elements of science and mathematics related to agriculture, crop production, horticulture, and animal husbandry and poultry farming. The exam is of total 200 marks with no negative marking, and it is a 3-hour offline exam.
CG PAT Science Group Syllabus
For Science group, candidates can choose either PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).

All important topics of physics are covered such as pressure, gravity, electricity, and optics.
· Chemistry :
It includes topics such as basic concepts of chemistry, classification of elements, chemical bonding, state of matter, thermodynamics, and environmental chemistry.
· Mathematics or Biology :
In science group one has to choose Mathematics or Biology.

Agriculture group consists of basic elements of science and mathematics along with agriculture-related subjects.
