The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and the largest open schooling system in the world. It provides flexible education for students who cannot attend regular schools due to various reasons.

Class 10th (Secondary) Syllabus
Students must choose a minimum of five subjects, including at least one language (maximum two).
· Languages: Hindi (201), English (202), Sanskrit (209), Urdu (206).
· Core Subjects:
o Mathematics (211): Algebra (Number Systems, Polynomials), Geometry (Lines/Angles, Circles), Trigonometry, and Statistics.
o Science and Technology (212): Force and Motion, Gravitation, Work & Energy, and Sources of Energy.
o Social Science (213): Evolution of Human Society, India’s Struggle for Freedom, and Contemporary India.
· Other Popular Subjects: Economics (214), Business Studies (215), Home Science (216), Data Entry Operations (229), and Painting (225).

Class 12th (Senior Secondary) Syllabus
Subjects are organized into six groups (A to F). Students must select five subjects, including at least one language from Group A.
· Group A (Languages): Hindi (301), English (302), Urdu (306), Sanskrit (309), and regional languages.
· Group B (Humanities & Commerce): Mathematics (311), Home Science (321), Psychology (328), Economics (318), and Business Studies (319).
· Group C (Science/Humanities): Physics (312), History (315), and Library & Information Science.
· Group D (Science/Social): Chemistry (313), Political Science (317), and Mass Communication.
· Group E (Science/Commerce): Biology (314), Accountancy (320), and Introduction to Law.

NIOS Admit Card
As of January Session, the following schedule applies for Classes 10 and 12:
· April Session:
o Practical Exams: Hall tickets are expected to be released in early March.
o Theory Exams: Admit cards are typically released in late March or early April, approximately one week before the exams begin.
· On-Demand Examinations (ODE): Hall tickets for ODE (held from January to March) are generally made available 24 hours before the scheduled exam.
How to Download Your Hall Ticket
1. Visit the official NIOS Hall Ticket Portal.
2. Enter your 12-digit Enrollment Number.
3. Select the Hall Ticket Type (either "Theory Examination" or "Practical Examination").
4. Click Submit to view and download the document.
5. Print a clear copy to carry to the examination center.
NIOS Result
How to Check Your NIOS Result
You can access your results through the following official channels:
1. Official Portal: Visit the NIOS Result Portal and enter your Enrollment Number and the captcha code to view your marksheet.
2. SMS Service:
1. For Class 10: Type NIOS10 <Enrollment_Number> and send to 5676750.
2. For Class 12: Type NIOS12 <Enrollment_Number> and send to 5676750.
3. DigiLocker: Results and digital certificates are also available on DigiLocker for immediate download.
Rechecking and Re-evaluation
· Rechecking: Available for both Class 10 and 12 within 15 days of the result declaration for a fee of ₹300 per subject.
· Re-evaluation: Available only for Class 12 students within 15 days of the result declaration for a fee of ₹800 per subject.
· Applications can be submitted online via the SDMIS portal.
Original Marksheets
The online result is a provisional marksheet meant for immediate information. Original hard copies of the marksheet and migration certificate are typically issued by the respective Accredited Institutes (AIs) or study centers several weeks after the online announcement.
