Faculty Development Programme (FDP)

FDP or Faculty Development Program is a professional development initiative designed to enhance the teaching, research, and technical skills of faculty members in educational institutions. These programs focus on areas like green skills, Artificial Intelligence, and pedagogy through various formats, including online, offline, and residential workshops, often incorporating e-learning, expert lectures, and hands-on training to prepare faculty for new technologies and improve student employability.  

FDPs aim to improve faculties' expertise in their specific fields, new technologies (like AI and Green Skills), and modern teaching methods. FDPs offer opportunities for faculty to connect with peers, share ideas, and foster collaboration across different institutions. These programs help faculty integrate relevant topics into their courses, making students more employable in a rapidly evolving job market. Programs are often led by experienced faculty, industry experts, and master trainers, providing practical knowledge and insights.

Eligibility Criteria for FDP

1.     Participate should have completed their graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.

2.     Participants are often required to be full-time faculty members from AICTE-approved institutions, UGC-recognized universities, or other reputable organizations. 

3.     Some programs specify a minimum number of years of teaching or research experience. 

4.     Some FDPs are tailored to specific academic disciplines like management, technical streams (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology), or other professional fields. 

5.     Some FDPs give preference to younger faculty members or those in the early stages of their careers to maximize the benefits. 

6.     Since many FDPs are delivered in English, fluency in the language may be required. 

Admission Process

1.     Admission process typically involves checking eligibility criteria, filling out an online application form on the program website, submitting required documents like a resume, and potentially attending an interview or selection process.

2.     If your institution is sponsoring you, they may need to complete a "Part B" of the form.

3.     Selected candidates are notified, and then payment of fees is required to secure a spot. 

4.     If you are an international participant, you are responsible for completing all visa formalities in a timely manner.
