B.Tech Agricultural Biotechnology is a four-year engineering program. This programme trains students to assess the risks of natural hazards such as wind earthquakes landslides etc. It helps them analyse, plan, and construct foundations and support structures to ensure minimum collateral damage in critical situations.
The program aims to provide students with knowledge and skills in the sustainable use of soil and water resources to support agriculture and other industries. This course focuses on water and soil conservation, which are two of the most important resources on Earth. Water is vital for human life, as it provides a medium for growth. Moreover, the soil is non-renewable, so it is susceptible to rapid degradation due to erosion processes.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Agricultural Biotechnology
1. Applicants must have a 10+2 qualification from a recognized board on Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in Class 12th.
2. Applicants must achieve at least 50% to 60% of the points in the relevant proficiency tests.
3. Eligibility conditions for candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories will be 45% marks in the qualifying examinations.
4. Applicants must not be younger than 17 at the time of application.
Admission Process
1. Colleges publish admission notices on their website from June when most Indian universities would have finished degree exams.
2. Candidate to apply for each college, as each college considers each mark the cut-off mark.
3. Some private colleges and deemed universities perform their counselling process by conducting their university-level entrance exams.
4. Some colleges require a minimum of 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination.
5. Candidates who qualify for the test are called for an interview before the final seat allotment.
6. Some of the entrance exams for BTech are JEE Main, WBJEE, JEE Advanced, KCET etc.
Career after B.Tech Agricultural Biotechnology
Agricultural Engineering Conservation engineering falls under the Department of Agricultural Engineering which involves research work on themes such as rainwater management systems, analysis of climatologically data, runoff and soil loss estimations, controlling losses in farm ponds, soil moisture modelling, drought characterization and study of agriculture process etc.
A significant number of government job posts are offered for successful graduates of this course, like the opportunity to join the Departments of Agriculture of various State Governments, in capacities such as Land Officer in the relevant department. Such graduates may find jobs in government departments such as Food Department, Research Department, State Dairy Boards, Coir Board etc.
