Certificate Course in Emergency Medicine is a 1-year course. This course enables the candidate to gain experience in Emergency health services specially related to the provision of pre-hospital care and transport of the sick and injured. The function of EMS can be simplified into four main components accessing emergency care, care in the community, care en route, and care upon arrival to receiving care at the healthcare facility.
This program trains doctors & nurses in the field of Emergency Medical Services, focusing on pre-hospital care and creating awareness and new services in society. In the course, candidates will be expected to undertake six months in an anaesthetics term or three months in anaesthetics and three months in ICU terms.
In order to receive a certificate of completion, you will need to also complete the second, skills-based component of the course, which requires you to identify an Emergency Medicine physician as a mentor, for local observation and supervised practice. Eligibility Criteria for Certificate Course in Emergency Medicine
1. The candidate should have qualified 10+2 (Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Mathematics stream + English) or its equivalent from a recognized board of education with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
2. Candidates who have obtained a minimum of 50% (45% in the case of SC/ST candidates) in the PCMB group or combinations thereof, in their PUC or qualifying examination are eligible for admission.
3. Foreign national candidates will be eligible for only seats allocated to foreign national categories, depending upon the individual institutes.

2. Some private colleges and deemed universities perform their counselling process by conducting their university-level entrance exams.
3. Some colleges require a minimum of 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination.
