Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) is a 2 years diploma course. Students who wish to pursue a career in the medical field of pharmaceutical sciences, starting in entry-level positions are suitable for this course. Diploma in Pharmacy is a short-term program for aspirants who want to foray into the pharmaceutical business and pharmacy jobs.
The programme covers basic pharmacy education including the application of chemistry in the pharmaceutical industry, concepts of biochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology. The programme enables the students to learn about different chemical salts, their application and their uses in medicine.
Diploma in Pharmacy Course Eligibility Criteria
Minimum eligibility qualification is 10+2 level of education in science stream, from a recognized educational board, for admission into the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) course in any college. It must be passed with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology subjects.
A minimum aggregate score of 35% (Passing marks) at the 10+2 level is also necessary. The cut-off percentage of marks differs as per the University/College. 10% relaxation in marks will be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer), differently-abled, and other categories.
D Pharmacy Admission 2021
Admission to the course is usually based on the score obtained by a candidate in an entrance exam. Some of the major entrance exams conducted for this purpose are GPAT, AU AIMEE etc. Some colleges also offer admission on a merit basis.
