B.Tech Biotechnology is a 4-year long undergraduate-level bachelor's degree program. B.tech in Biotechnology is one of the best specializations in engineering courses. Biotechnology means any technological application that uses biological systems or living organisms to create or modify products or processes for a specific use.

Biotechnology engineers have a wide range of opportunities to choose from in terms of job opportunities such as Maintenance Engineer, Quality Clearance Engineer, Research Analyst, IT Client Consultant, etc.

The bachelor’s degree course in biotechnology is a combination of technology, research, and development. It's a more research-oriented program that includes the study in the area of applied biology, chemical engineering, and genetic engineering. This study applies to the use of medicine, agriculture, living organisms, and industrial & manufacturing processes.

Eligibility Criteria 

1. A student should have completed their 10+2 with physics, chemistry, maths, and biology.

2. The student must secure 50% marks in class 10+2.

3. The age of the candidate must be minimum of 17 years or above. SC/ST students are eligible for 5% relaxation in the aggregate and qualifying marks.

Admission Process

1. Various colleges and institutes may have their own additional criteria which the students would have to satisfy in order to take admitted.

2. Some institutes intake students on the basis of merit and prepare a cut-off list.

3. The IITs consider students who have attempted the JEE Main exam which includes the subjects physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
