Institute of Communication and Information Technology (ICIT)

Institute of Communication and Information Technology (ICIT), Mokokchung has been setup under the Third Technician Education Project, assisted by the World Bank.

Under this project the State Project Implementation Unit(SPIU) was set up which has the overall responsibility in setting up Institutes for Technician EducationThe Institute was established in the year 2003 with a view to gather to the needs of the people of the state in emerging areas of Information Technology and to provide the art of teaching-learning facilities as available elsewhere in the country.

The Institute has the responsibility to produce employable technicians, Entrepreneurs and also to uplift the community through technology transfer and training.Institute of Communication and Information Technology - ICIT is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology and machineries to mould students into experts in their respective fields.

Learning aids which are considered to be the best in the market are being acquired for enabling a seamless flow of knowledge from the faculties to the students.The Institute at present offer three Diploma Programmes in the areas of Computer Engineering (CE), Information Technology (IT) and Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) which is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).ICIT, is also permitted to offer Skills-Training/ up-gradation Course and organize Technology transfer programmes for the Rural Community.ICIT, Mokokchung is administered by the Directorate of Technical Education and is funded by the state Government.

The State Council for Technical Education (SCTE) conducts the Semester Exams and issues the Certificate.

The Institute is located Under the jurisdiction of Ungma Village, On the way to Nagaland University Campus, Lumami, which is 12 Kms away from the Mokokchung Town.
