WELCOME TO ADAGIO RIDING STABLES

Adagio Riding Stables is the first of its kind in India where pupils, young and old, are paired with horses adequate to their own heights and sizes. This methodology follows the European model and trains pupils in horse mastership and animal management.

Adagio Riding Stables believes that riders should train on ponies and horses which are proportionate to their sizes. They start off on ponies [smaller-sized horses] which they can control easily, and quickly gain in confidence and make swift, sure progress. They effortlessly develop into confident accomplished riders.

Adagio Riding Stables has been hailed by the media [Indian Express article The Horse Whisperers - 21 December 2009] and the country's equestrian experts as “arguably India's first pony – riding club”].

Adagio has trained ponies & horses of varying sizes, to cater to any rider from the age of 5 onwards. After several years of experience with ponies and horses, the instructors know that there is much more to horses than simply learning to ride. In order to infuse new riders with love for this animal, all pupils at Adagio experience the totality of life with a horse. This hands-on approach allows riders to understand and love their rides [ponies & horses] and greatly enhances their self-confidence.

The academy is situated at Baliyawas, on the Faridabad road, just 20 minutes from Gurgaon or Chhaterpur. The creators have ample experience with ponies, horses, professionalism coaching and children. They complement each other perfectly. Rudrika Singh, the youngest and most ambitious team member, is taking the academy to a whole new level with her expertise,, passion for horses and love of equestrian sports.

Adagio Riding Stables regularly hosts leading riders from across the world in various disciplines to hold clinics for enhancement of equestrian knowledge of its riders. Some leading lights of the equestrian world who have held clinics at Adagio are Dina Ellerman from Estonia and Natalia Rubashko from Belarus.

Annually, a European pony camp is organised during summer holidays in India for young children to grant them exposure and latest insight into the wonderful world of equestrian sport. There they explore, learn and interact with their European counterparts regarding the latest techniques, saddlery and equipment used for development of their riding skills. Over the years this has been an exhilarating experience for the participants.

Colonel PP Singh is one of the most experienced riders and trainers in India today. He had ridden for India internationally in Show Jumping, Three Day Event and Tent Pegging. He also has extensive experience in organising and managing National and International Horse Shows. Most of the Army riders today are his protégés, he being their Chief Equitation Officer at the Indian Military Academy at Dehradun from 1998 – 2001.

For the last 3 years, he has been appointed by the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) as the Steward General of India.

He is an International Judge in Show-Jumping, International Technical Delegate, National Judge in Dressage and an International Steward for the Equestrian sport.

He is also currently the member of the Equestrian Federation of India Selection Committee for selection of the various national equestrian teams proceeding for International competitions.

He has traveled and judged at World Cups and World Championships across the globe other than competing himself. He was the only Indian official at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy France in 2014.

The Colonel opted for premature retirement from the Army in 2013 to pursue his passion for the sport full time.

Caroline Juneja grew up in France on the pony-club owned by her father. She has been riding since age 5 and competing since age 7. Throughout her life, Caroline has observed the happiness of children and adults around ponies and horses; their joy at being able to care for, have fun with, and team up to compete on horses which are the right size for them. She has been living in India for the last 14 years.

Rudrika Singh, a graduate of St. Xavier's College, Calcutta, and daughter of Colonel PP Singh, has been riding since age 10 and is currently competing in all equestrian disciplines, including dressage and show-jumping. She is an extensively-trained and talented National-level rider, whose passion for horses is only equaled by her zeal for imparting her equestrian knowledge to children. She enjoys “endurance racing”, in which she excels and currently ranks no. 2 in India. India Today has featured her as one of India's leading young sportswomen. Rudrika trains every year in France under Olympic rider Rodolphe Scherer, at his exclusive Pony Club.

Adagio riding Stables are located in a beautiful, green environment, nestled in the Aravali hills. A variety of birds can be observed and no city sounds heard whatsoever.

With French pancakes, good coffee and a Saturday/Sunday brunch. Badminton, as well as some space to kick a football, this is a great place for the whole family.
