ABOUT US

Gujarat government announced the state's organic policy-2015, the aim of which was to familiarize the farmers of the entire state of Gujarat with the concept of Organic Farming, Crop-Nutrition System, Crop-Protection, and Crop-Market System through natural methods. Moving forward in the same direction, Gujarat State Government established Gujarat Organic Agricultural University under Act No. 16, 2017 with the intention of promoting organic farming and subsequently renaming the university under Gujarat Organic Agricultural University Amendment Act 2, 2022 to mobilize the concept of Natural Farming, “Gujarat Natural Farming and Organic Agricultural University”. The headquarter of Gujarat Natural Farming and Organic Agricultural University is at Jambudi Farm in Halol Taluka of Panchmahal District. At present development works of the university are going on there. At present working office is at ATIC building, Anand Agricultural University, Anand Camp, Anand.

VISION AND MISSION

• To acquaint the trainee with the philosophy and techniques of natural and organic farming.
• Given theoretical and practical education/training in Integrated Biological Nutrition System/Soil Health/Natural Crop Protection Management etc.
• To develop skills in various farming methods to cultivate natural farming in a scientific manner.
• To develop skill in a farm-to-market chain of organic farm produce according to the demand of producers for natural-and-organic farm produce
• To create knowledge on the importance of adherence to business ethics standards in the implementation of organic farming and Natural farming principles.
• To make provision for education towards developing quality human resources in various branches of study in natural and organic agriculture.
• To progress the study and conduct of research.
• Acquiring traditional and ancient knowledge and verifying and validating it with modern scientific tools.
• Given extension education and training to the farmer.
• Promoting partnerships and affiliations with national and international educational institutions..

• To establish colleges, laboratories, libraries, museums, research institutes, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) or Center of Incubation and units related to natural farming and allied sciences as per the agro-climatic conditions of the state.
• To make provision for printing, reproduction and publication of research and other works to popularize Natural farming and organic farming to conduct exhibitions, workshops, seminars conferences etc.
