History of College



Tirhut College of Physical Education, Muzaffarpur was founded by Shri Krishna Nandan Sahay in 1938 and its building was inaugurated by A. R. Kidwai, the then Hon'ble Governer of Bihar. This is the 5th oldest Physical Education college of India. Later this college was visited by Mr. Arjun Singh, Minister of H.R.D. Government of India. Name of other important personalities who visited this college include Mr. Satendra Narayan Singh, the then Chief Minister of Bihar, Mr. R. S. Tiwary, Secretary, Youth Culture, Government of Bihar and Mrs. Sudha Panday, Minister of Sports, Government of Bihar.


Objectives of the College

(a) To produce highly trained and duly qualified leaders in the field of Physical Education and sports.
(b) To import job-oriented coaching and training and prepares persons who in turn may guide, serve and develop the cause of Physical Education in the country.
